Alice Through the Looking Glass is a 2016 American live action / computer animated fantasy comedy adventure film directed by James Bobin, based on the book of the same name and the sequel to Alice in Wonderland (2010).
Why it's great[]
- The directing is really good, especially its visuals and CGI.
- Like the first film, the story is original and creative, differencing itself from the actual Through the Looking Glass book and chosing to create a completely new story.
- The backstory of the Red Queen makes you feel pity for her and turns her character into a more sympathetic villain.
- The cast does a great job, especially Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Sasha Baron Cohen.
- Well done humor, like the Time jokes during the tea scene or all Time scenes in general.
- The characters are all well written and everyone has some depht. Even the White Queen, who was a shallow character in the first film.
- Great soundtrack composed by Danny Elfman, as usual.
- Heartwarming ending and a nice conclusion.
- The ending song Just Like Fire by P!nk is catchy.
Bad Qualities[]
- The absence of Tim Burton as the character maked this movie a bit childish and way more lightful.
