Why it's great[]
- The CGI on the Chipmunks is very impressive, they really look like real life anthropomorphic squirrels.
- The humor is decent and can give some genuine laugh.
- The characters are well written and builded, especially Dave. His relationship with the Chipmunks is more explored and developed than in the original cartoons.
- The message of the film, that fame and riches are nothing without people that love you, is nice.
- Claire is a great female protagonist as she tries to make Dave realize that he actually cares about the Chipmunks and even helps him in the end even though they were initially exes.
- Ian is a good villain, he can manage to be both funny and scary at the same time.
- Great soundtrack.
