Cars 2 Poster

Cars 2 is a 2011 American computer-animated spy comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. It is the sequel to Cars (2006), the second film in the Cars franchise, and the 12th animated film from the studio. The film was directed by John Lasseter (in his final outing as director of a Pixar film to date), co-directed by Brad Lewis, and produced by Denise Ream, and written by Ben Queen, Lasseter, Lewis, and Dan Fogelman. In the film's ensemble voice cast, Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, Tony Shalhoub, Guido Quaroni, Bonnie Hunt, and John Ratzenberger reprise their roles from the first film. George Carlin, who previously voiced Fillmore, died in 2008, and his role was passed to Lloyd Sherr. The returning cast is joined by Michael Caine, Emily Mortimer, John Turturro, Eddie Izzard, and Thomas Kretschmann, who voice the new characters introduced in this film.

It is widely considered to be the worst of all the Pixar movies.

Why It's Great[]

  • The opening scene with Finn McMissile is enjoyable with tons of action, and his own theme song playing.
  • It has the same characters return from the first movie, especially Lightning McQueen, and Tow Mater.
  • Finn McMissile, and Holly Shiftwell are great new characters featured in the film.
  • Mater is still likeable at many moments in the film, especially being the waiter, and using karate on the lemons.
  • Lightning McQueen's design for the World Grand Prix looks really cool.
  • Luigi, and Guido have lots of enjoyable moments in the film, such as them returning home to their village, and introducing Uncle Topolino, and Mama Topolino.
  • Tow Mater plays the role of the main character relatively well in the movie.
  • The moral lesson of just being yourself is great, and inspiring.
  • Each of the action scenes are very entertaining, and enjoyable, especially in the final battle.
  • Although almost everything in the movie was not talked about, or mentioned in Cars 3. Jeff Corvette did make an appearance in the third film.

Bad Qualities[]

  • The film went off-topic with the usual racing thing in both Cars, and Cars 3 by including a spy thriller take into it.
  • Mater can sometimes be too much of himself in the movie, and annoying to viewers watching him.
