The Smurfs 2 is a 2013 American computer animated / live action comedy adventure film directed by Raja Gosnell and produced by Sony Animation. It's a sequel to The Smurfs (2011) and it's based on the original comics of the same name. All the actors of the first film reprised their roles.
Synopsis[]
After remaining stuck in the present in the first film, Gargamel became a famous and loved wizard at Paris. However, despite his success, he didn't lose his hunger for power and still wants the Smurfs energy to become the most powerful wizard of the world, in fact he created his own Smurfs and successfully sends one of them to kidnap Smurfette to take her on his side by pretending to be sweet to her. To save Smurfette, the Smurfs will have to come back to the present timeline again and there they reunite with their old friend Patrick.
Why it rocks[]
- Decent CGI and special effects.
- Hank Azaria does again a great job at voicing Gargamel in this film and he's even better in this film than how he was in the first film.
- Hilarious humor.
- The film itself outside of Gargamel's scenes is less cheesy than the first film even though it was still good.
- Great soundtrack.
